The Grapat 12 Nins from BabyDonkie is a wonderful wooden toy set that can be used for creative and small worlds play. Made from locally sourced wood from a small town in the Pyrenean mountains of Catalunya, these peg dolls have no gender allowing children to use their imagination and creativity.
'Nins' meaning children in Catalan, do not have eyes or gender, as Grapat owners Casiana and Jordi, believe that when the toy is simplistic in design and with little instructions provided, it encourages children to use their imagination, creativity and mind. This follows the Waldorf educational approach which is popular across the globe and used in preschools and early learning centres.
