I'm Dong-Maria, owner and founder of BabyDonkie. I started BabyDonkie when I was on maternity leave with my second child, as a curated online place for stylish shoppers to find gorgeous clothing, accessories and decor. I found I was constantly on the look out for the next 'it' labels so I could be unique, only to see stores soon stocking the same brands. With a team of one, a full time job and 2 extra little ones, this fast buying pace only to be on sale within months later, just to keep up, was not going to be sustainable.
As BabyDonkie turns five this year, I'm re-evaluating the direction of my business. I'm going back to my original vision of bringing together a small collection of gorgeous pieces with a focus on organic, fair trade and ethically made labels. I’m also continuing to support designers with a focus on home grown talent.
So, what does this mean?
- Consistency in the brands I stock.
- Supporting small businesses and designers.
- High quality items that can withstand play and last more than one season.
- Unisex clothing that can be passed down to siblings of any gender.
- Classic toys and décor that are timeless in style.
